ABOUT BANK PO-
A PO holds the designation of an Assistant Manager (AM) on Probation. He is in Junior Management Grade-1 (JMG-Scale 1) Officer thus he is often called as Scale 1 Officer or Asst. Manager.
This is the exam held for recruitment to nationalized banks in India for jobs of Probationary Officer (PO). The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a Common Written Examination (CWE) on behalf of 27 nationalized banks (see list below) as a pre-requisite for selection of Probationary Officers. IBPS is only the body conducting the written test. The vacancies in individual banks as well as the group discussion and personal interview process are managed by each participating bank separately.
Initial Posting of Probationary Officer (PO) -
After selection as a Probationary Officer (PO) in a particular bank a PO has to go through Induction training programs in Management Training Academies of particular banks which lasts for 10 to 20 days. The duration of training varies from banks to banks.
After completion of their induction training in Management Training Academies a PO can be posted anywhere in India, as the service of Government Bank Officer is All India based service.
They can be posted as an Asst. Manager on probation in different branches or Head Office or Corporate Office or Zonal Offices or in specialized branches like microstate branches, treasury Branches etc. as per placement policy of particular banks.
BPS CWE PO ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Age & Education Minimum: 20 years Maximum: 30 years A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet / Degree Certificate that he/ she is a graduate on the day he / she registers and indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering online.
